NCB has dealt with L’arabesque interior design, an haute couture atelier run by Chici Meroni, designer and stylist, jewel collector as well as creative soul of the cult store based in the centre of Milan, in Largo Augusto.
The boutique, placed under the large arcades of the famous ex Jolly Hotel building realized between 1961-1965 by the well-known architects Figini e Pollini, has been thought in order to generate an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere inspired by a cultured fifties mood.
Some refined decorative and stylistic references, which glean from retro glossy Italian and international interiors about the Dolce Vita, become scene for a treated placing of particular custom-made furnitures and also of some extraordinary iconic vintage pieces and chandeliers.
This represents a sensual chromatic and tonal balance which became mostly celebrated thanks to a meticulous lighting project able to toggle between architectural spot and strip-led installed into the decorative elements with Stilnovo and Azucena pieces. An unusual mix of beauty and lightness which brings visitors into the charming world of L’arabesque.
Even if this project was something uncommon for NCB, the great result has been due to the mutual trust and the continuous dialogue grown during the journey.
