Casa Isabella is an ancient residence placed in the Mottola countryside in San Basilio, in the area of Taranto. The magnificent building was completed in 1879 at the behest of the duke Nicola De’Sagro as a gift for his wife Isabella de Medici.
The huge construction has a direct link with an important 1600’s Masseria and has been reconverted into hospitality and celebration location since time. There is also a wonderful park which looks as old as the building.
NCB worked on the masterplan, especially focusing on the potential enlargements and additions related to the facility offer upgrading. During the first steps, NCB gave its point of view about the creation of a new pavilion for events, a glass roofing for the palace courtyard, an hypogenous spa, and as a whole about the interior restyling guidelines. The project was developed with the idea of giving back the landmark value to the original architecture, focusing on some specific points: the research of textures and chromatic finishings for both internal and exterior facades, a lighting study to emphasize the fronts, the interiors concept aimed to return the Mediterranean rural atmospheres inspired by genius loci into a modern key. According to different strategies and decisions of the owners, this project unfortunately didn’t find a conclusion.
