“Space and light and order. Those are the things that men need just as much as they need bread or a place to sleep“.

The project involves the construction of a holidays villa on the island of Favignana in the Egadi, set in its own grounds surrounded by a pristine environment of the Mediterranean not far from the sea. The house is inserted in the center of the lot in a discreet and respectful of the place, given that this is a low building, with one floor and roof terrace; in the wake of traditional Mediterranean buildings. The villa consists of two physically separate units, designed to form a single nucleus capable of seating up to six people, but managed to ensure, if necessary, independent use of bodies, both with the main functions, while nonetheless guaranteeing an adequate level of privacy.
The core area is the outdoor patio of connection that can also be used as a dining area, shielded by a cover made of wooden planks painted white. The villa’s interiors are characterized by the use of the raw resin for flooring, equipped with underfloor heating, and white plaster on the walls to brighten the rooms. The furnishings are coordinated with neutral colors except for a select few elements that are characterized by a more prominent presence; also all fixed furnishings are custom-designed. Integral part of the project is the creation of a Mediterranean garden, with an area of about 15,000 square meters, developed in conjunction with the Vivai del Sole. The green project includes a longitudinal subdivision of the area, characterized by a olive trees garden in the first sector while going down towards the sea vegetation has a more wild with different essences of trees and native shrubs.
